Richard mentioned that he thought he’d seen the aurora out the north window. I looked out and sure enough it was! I changed the lens, changed settings, grabbed my tripod and headed out to turn off the yard light.
This is an 11 second timelapse I shot between 11pm and midnight while being serenaded by the local wildlife.

This one was right at the start, and even has some reds and blues which are caused by different elements in our atmosphere meeting particles from the the sun.

The east side was more active.



By midnight, she was really dancing but I was wiped.
