An Evening in the Avonlea Badlands

I recently attended an evening tour in the Avonlea Badlands through Avonlea Heritage Museum with some awesome ladies from Red Fox Creative Studios. What a wonderful place! Here are a few of my favourites from this leisurely 2 km hike.

The evening light adds a certain richness to the layers and landforms that are found there.

My first highlight of the day – hawk rock – have you ever seen it? I’ve been to these badlands a few times but this was the first time I’ve ever seen it. It doesn’t matter how many times I go, I always find something new.

Hopefully a moon marble on the hoodoo doesn’t break it.

Second highlight of the day – a spectacular sunset. Is it a gorilla or a bird’s head?

It’s hard for me to describe all the shades in the western sky.

Silhouettes abound!

It was a spectacular show. Thanks to some great ladies from Red Fox Creative Studios for putting up with me. We are so lucky to be able to see these wonders.
